went to catch Dance! Subaru over the weekend. and i must say... i really liked the show. i had no idea that it was adapted from a manga. but now that i do, i'm gonna potter off to look for the scanlations online! :)
the lead actress really captivated me with her looks. very sharp features. i found her familiar when she appeared on screen but can't remember if i had seen a show with her in it before. after wiki-ing her (ahh.... the marvels of wiki!!), she had appear on crows zero!! which is another show that i really liked (crows zero II coming out!!). and after more scouting, i've found that she is half south-american, half jap. totally explains her exotic look. beautiful eyes man. she is quite intense on screen. and she really does have the air of a ballerina. i don't know for sure if she has taken ballet, but wow! her movements were graceful man.
the show overall was pretty engaging, shot in the style of a play, a total of 4 acts. i found the pseudo relationship between the guy (whom i can't even remember his name in the show) and the lead actress a bit pointless. she's obviously too involved with her dancing that a blind person could see that it wasn't going to work out at all. and it's so pointless because it doesn't add any value to the story. except to emphasise that she is very much in love with dancing, which we all could ALREADY tell!!
loved the comic relief, sada kun! pretty good on his en pointe (i wonder if he really studied ballet in real life), and he's not a lithe person. he's acutally quite bulky. i guess you can't really judge a book by it's cover. the obachan reminds me of yubaba/zeniba from spirited away - all that black and goth fashion.
all in all, i liked the show and i can't wait for the sequel to come out (if there is)!
